The first installment of the Fast & Furious series is about a group of high-speed cars who steal oil as its being transported . Undercover cop Brian O'Conner is put on the special mission to uncover who the team is. Both the audience and Brian learn that Dom is a family man , and he would do whatever to keep his family safe. The head honcho himself and his "family" are the group who is stealing the oil for money.
Ichabod and Dom share the same desire for money . Only that Ichabod chooses to inherit the money from the father of his beloved Katrina , and Dom steals oil. Both will not use the money for bad, but their methods of receiving the money is questionable. Ichabod is a teacher and doesn't earn the money he desires. Dom motives are to better the conditions for him and his family as we see that , they live in a rough neighborhood.
When Dom is in trouble he knows exactly what to say to get himself out of a life threatening situation. For Ichabod his manipulative ways are to get people to like him specially , the upper class. Although this strategy might be used for two different the men know the words to say and master it very well. We may call a person who manipulative a liar or someone we can't trust. The way Dom and Ichabod control people is very astonishing to us.
Both men have the intelligence to get what they want. When Dom finds out that Letty was "killed" by Felix he wanted to make sure Felix was put to his misery, in this case Dom wants revenge. Ichabod uses his intelligence by stopping by his student's house to get fed by the mothers. We would call Dom's intelligence street smart. Should we still be able to love Dom after he kills Felix out of revenge?
The fact is although Dom performs illegal actions, we still love him and can't get enough of the movies! Dominic portreys the rebel inside of us and I think that's why we love him and don't want him to get hurt or caught. So what he killed Felix, didn't he deserve it for "killing" Letty, Dom's true love. We want to see Dom happy and being able to provide for his family. We admire the skills Dominic has, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wishes they could drive as fast and crazy as him.
